Sean Hicks, head of the corporate risks team for London market broker Oxygen, has passed away.
The company has made a statement, saying: "We regret to advise the sad news that Sean Hicks has passed away. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family at this very difficult time.
"Sean was head of our corporate risks team. He joined Oxygen in 2006 together with five colleagues who had set up a business with the aim of being the first insurance broker in the UK to operate on a professional services model, with all its income earned through fees or fully disclosed commission.
"Sean played a major role in building the business, which has gained a reputation for its professional staff, the delivery of high standards of service and the quality of its advice.
"He will be greatly missed by his colleagues and all those who have worked with him over the years."
Mr Hicks joined Oxygen in 2006 with Chris Brady, Graeme McIntyre, Keith Florence, Nigel Harrison and Richard Butcher, following Oxygen's acquisition of his business, Smart and Cook Consulting.
