The industry has kept busy over the past few weeks, reporting a large number of people moves both within the broker and the insurer market.

Firstly, looking at brokers, Towergate has made a bundle of new hires including one chief underwriting officer and one chief transformation and change director. Meanwhile, former Towergate leader Clive Nathan has joined Primary Group and Fresh Insurance has added two new recruits, while Swinton has hired a new head of commercial.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
