In current market conditions, it has become commonplace for broking firms to look to acquire rivals in an attempt to maintain growth, but for smaller companies, the lack of liquid capital makes this activity near impossible. To negotiate this hurdle, some brokers have listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) to realise the value of their company and to allow them to exploit worldwide financial markets.
