Broadly speaking, the issues of hiring and firing are very different, but both processes involve a set of procedures that are important to follow. From a legislative point of view, following the correct procedure and documenting each stage of the process is important for the employer in case a claim is made against them in the future. Issues such as sex discrimination, unfair dismissal and the newly introduced age discrimination legislation are all factors employers need to consider when hiring
